Covert Optical Coding SystemThe patented DNA Matrix SmartMark Process uses invisible markers that contain sufficient information to uniquely identify a product. It employs specific formulations of rare light-emitting chemicals that produce a complex spectral signature when excited by light of a specific colour and intensity. The spectral signature varies according to the exact chemical composition of the taggant, and new taggants (and thus new spectral signatures) can be custom developed and tested for each new application. The light emitting chemicals are stable, non toxic and may be readily incorporated into printing inks, dies, plastics, threads and other items as part of the normal printing or manufacturing process.
